On the very first Climate Impacts Day (May 5th), 350.org is planning hundreds of worldwide events to “connect the dots” between climate change and extreme weather. The group invites everyone to “protest, educate, document and volunteer along with thousands of people around the world to support the communities on the front lines of the climate crisis.” Find an event near you or create a new event. One way to deal with floods and rising sea level – live on top of the water. USA Today article introduced the accessibility and advantage of floating houses. Bangkok, Amsterdam and Netherlands have built amphibious houses to adapt the view of “waterscape urbanism”. Many coastal cities such as Tokyo, London, Jakarta, Sydney and Shanghai are also considering it.
